The Straight Flush
There’s a place in Wickham Street
Where the King lies low
He’s surrounded by the numbers
And shapes and colours all in tow
He has his back to a club seven
And he’s facing a lonely heart
But then he’s slipping and sliding
Looks like a brand new start
He glances at the crying joker
Sad that it’s not his day
Let’s roll …..
Let’s play…….
Up above the lights of Wickham Street
The King just waits his turn
He smiles at the prince called Jack
Who thinks there’s nothing left to learn
Number ten falls quickly to the table
Followed by the black dude Ace
The King takes a long deep breath
And asks his Queen to take her place
He sees the fear in the face before him
As he charges into the fray
Let’s roll ……
Let’s play……
